Announcing Our 23rd Principal
Dear Holy Trinity family,
I am excited and proud to announce that the 23rd principal of Holy Trinity High School will be Dr. Quincy Paden. Dr. Paden, a 1995 graduate of Holy Trinity, has his doctorate in counseling and possesses a well-rounded experience in educational administration. More importantly, he embodies our Holy Cross values in all that he does. He will be a thoughtful, collaborative, and caring leader who will inspire our students to reach their full potential.
After earning his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Morehouse College, Dr. Paden received his Master of Science in Education (Counseling) from Western Illinois University and Doctor of Education (Counseling) from Northern Illinois University.
Dr. Paden comes back home to Holy Trinity from Adler University, where he served as Associate Vice President of Student Affairs since January 2018. Previously, he served as Associate Dean of Student Services at Truman College (2014-2018) and Director of the TRiO Programs (Student Support Services, Educational Talent Search, and Upward Bound) at Iowa Lakes Community College (2010-2014). Prior to earning his doctorate, he worked as a counselor at Northern Illinois University and Western Illinois University.
A proud alumnus of Holy Trinity, Dr. Paden was inducted into the HT Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999 and has served on our Advisory Council since 2015.
In preparation for this announcement, Dr. Paden remarked, “I am humbled and excited to embark on a new journey and work for an institution which has given me so much. Holy Trinity gave me a foundation that I continue to rely on, and now my high school experience and career is coming full circle.”
Dr. Paden resides in the Woodlawn neighborhood of Chicago and attends Shrine of Christ the King Catholic Church.
We are grateful to Marianne Lynch, our principal for the last five years who is now transitioning into retirement. Her dedicated service to our students and families and her commitment to our mission and Holy Cross tradition has truly made an impact on our students, alumni, and teachers. We will be honoring Ms. Lynch in the weeks to come and will invite you to join those celebrations.
Special thanks to our search committee, who invested their time, effort, careful reflection, and commitment to finding the right academic leader for our incredible school since November 2019.
At the outset of our search, we were determined to find the best fit for our community and our future. We have found that person! Dr. Paden is committed to ensuring our students receive an exceptional education and the opportunity to pursue and achieve their goals. Please help me welcome Dr. Paden back home to his alma mater.
