Inspired by our Holy Cross tradition, our school community is guided daily by the five Holy Cross values of Discipline, Excellence, Family, Integrity and Zeal. Each year we choose one of these values to highlight and reflect on in a more intentional way. Last year we focused on the value of family. In a year with much uncertainty and having faced extraordinary challenges alongside the entire world, it was certainly a fitting value to emphasize. We were called as brothers and sisters to take care of one another and as an entire school family we did just that.

But family is also about togetherness and we could not be physically present for one another in the way we wanted to last year. In choosing a theme for this year, we determined that family was worthy of celebrating again, during a school year when we are able to reunite in a safe way.

We are pleased to introduce the theme for the 2021 – 2022 school year: A Family of Learners

At Holy Trinity we understand the importance of acting as a family in all we do, especially when we are learning together. Our students and staff call one another to be the best version of themselves. We challenge one another daily in our academic work. In the classroom, learning side by side we know we are in a safe place among family, and that allows each person in our community to try new things, question their thinking, and be pushed to reach their full potential.

The Constitutions of the Brothers of Holy Cross, founders of Holy Trinity High School, specifically highlight the importance of a family community:

“It is essential to our mission that we strive to abide so attentively together that people will observe: ‘See how they love one another.’ We will then be a sign in an alienated world: men who have, for love of their Lord, become closest neighbors, trustworthy friends, brothers.” – Constitutions 4:42

As we journey through this year as a family of learners, we seek to follow this example of the Brothers. In being family to one another, we will be strongly united. With this bond solidified, we have faith that we can achieve excellence in all we do together.
