Driver’s Education Course WINTER 2024
Who: Students who are at least 15 years old and in good academic standing may enroll (See Academic Eligibility Requirements below).
When: January 16 – February 29, 2024
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays from 3:30PM to 5PM and Fridays from 3:15PM-4:
Where: Holy Trinity High School, Room 309.
Register in-person or over the phone through the business office (773-278-4212 Ext. 3056) starting January 16, 2024. The fee for the classroom portion is $75.
Additional Information on Driver’s Ed:
- The class is first offered to HT students on a first come first serve basis and will cap at 30 students, however, a minimum of 20 students need to sign up in order for the WINTER session to be offered.
- This HT course fulfills the required 30 hours of classroom instruction needed to obtain a license. The $75 is the cost for classroom instruction only (Phase 1)
- Additional $20 state fee applies in order to obtain a driving permit
- The class will not provide Behind-The-Wheel training (
BTW/Phase 2), which is the required 6 hours of driving for students under the age of 18. - ATTENDANCE is MANDATORY (Only 2 excused absences will be allowed, which will need to be made up)
Academic Eligibility Requirements: Each student must be enrolled in high school and receive a passing grade in at least eight courses during the previous two semesters prior to enrolling in a driver education course. If a pupil is a freshman, school districts may count passing grades from the last semester of the student’s eighth grade school year. Statutory Citation: 105 ILCS 5/27-24.2 Administrative Rule: 23 Ill. Admin. Code Part 252.25(a)(1).
