We celebrated our first mass as a school community on Tuesday, September 22, 2020. The mass was a great way to mark the beginning of our year of family! As a Holy Cross school, Holy Trinity is celebrating the Holy Cross value of family throughout the 2020-2021 school year. Family is a word often used to describe our school community. We value each student, parent, teacher, staff member, volunteer, and supporter as integral members of our family. This first mass was a great opportunity to reflect on what we value as a community and how we can encourage one another and work toward the success of each individual and our community as a whole.
While we have put a large focus on how we provide the best academics to all of our students during this time, we have also remained committed to the spiritual formation of our students. Our Catholic tradition is an important part of the education we provide at Holy Trinity and ensuring we are still able to participate in these celebrations of our faith is essential. As we prepared for this unique school year, our administration and religion faculty began to plan for how to best incorporate our campus ministry program into our new hybrid and e-learning model.
Mass looked a little different this time around as only a small number of students gathered in person in order to allow for proper social distancing. The remaining students watched the mass streamed to their homeroom. Students who were at home on this mass day were able to view the celebration through an online link as well.
Our Holy Cross tradition emphasizes the importance of educating both the heart and mind. The connection to our Catholic faith is one way we do this each day at Holy Trinity as we work toward the formation of our students and prepare them to transform our world.
