The Stephen and Michelle Hujar Annual Scholarship II is awarded to a deserving and well-qualified first-year student who demonstrates financial need and is enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student on the Winona campus of Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. Priority for this scholarship shall be given as follows:
- A student of Native American heritage and a graduate of Holy Trinity High School in Chicago, Illinois, Red Cloud High School in Pine Ridge, South Dakota, or St. Labre High School in Ashland, Montana. or,
- A student who is a U.S. citizen and a graduate of the three high schools listed in number 1. or,
- A student who is a U.S. citizen or of Native American heritage and a graduate of any Catholic high school located in the State of Illinois.
The scholarship shall be awarded on an annual basis in the amount of $10,000/year. This award is in addition to any need-based assistance or merit scholarships for which the candidate is eligible to receive. If the demonstrated need has been fully met, Saint Mary’s Financial Aid Office will eliminate any loans and campus employment from the students’ financial package until the need has been completely met with gift/grant assistance. Renewal of the Stephen and Michelle Hujar Annual Scholarship II requires that the student maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average and remain in good standing with all university policies.
