From the Principal

Happy Mother’s Day weekend! We have a couple of special ways to celebrate this year. Watch for a video link this weekend to hear from some of our students about how much the mothers, grandmothers, aunties and special women in their lives mean to them, and to offer some special prayers for the blessing that you are to all of us.

The second special celebration is a thank you from an anonymous donor. We will be distributing meals at Holy Trinity this Saturday from 12 to 2 p.m. in honor of all our mothers. All HT families are welcome! We will have enough to feed at least 200 people. Some will already be packed as family size meals and some will be individual. Moms, we hope you can enjoy a well earned break with this generous gift!

We are three weeks away from finals and a well earned break from screen time! Please encourage your students to hang in there along with us. Participation and cooperation are key to finishing well.

Seniors will be meeting at 12:30 p.m. today to discuss details regarding Prom, Robing, and Graduation. Senior parents are welcome to join the conversation and have received additional information. Details about these celebrations will be sent out after the meeting.

Finally, I hope you will take the time to meet Dr. Paden. I know you will like him as much as I do. He is an excellent example of the best of Holy Trinity and is looking forward to working with you. It is reassuring to know that HT will be in such good hands with Dr. Paden and Mr. Bopp!

Meet the New Principal

We are excited to introduce you to Dr. Quincy Paden ‘95, our incoming principal! Join us this Thursday at 6:30 p.m. for a virtual meet and greet. To receive the video conference link, register here.

Pandemic EBT Application Available

The Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) launched the Pandemic EBT application for families on May 1 at abe.illinois.gov. P-EBT is a new special benefit that can help families buy food for their school-age children who would normally receive the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) free or reduced-priced meals at school.

  • Families that currently receive SNAP benefits do not need to apply for P-EBT benefits. These additional P-EBT benefits will be loaded into Illinois LINK EBT accounts along with regular SNAP benefits.
  • Families who do not currently receive SNAP benefits but do have children who receive NSLP free or reduced-priced meals will need to apply directly with IDHS.

The fastest way for families to receive benefits is to complete the application for P-EBT available online (click “Apply for Benefits”). A paper application in English and Spanish is also available and can be submitted by email to dhs.fcs.pebt@illinois.gov. View this flyer to help with the application process.
