Principal Marianne Lynch has announced her plans for retirement at the end of the 2019-2020 school year.

With more than forty years serving in the field of education, Ms. Lynch began her career teaching in Chicago Public Schools, traveled to Monrovia, Liberia for four years to teach math, history and economics before coming home to Chicago, where she taught at St. Benedict High School, Immaculate Heart of Mary High School, and Queen of Peace High School. She became Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs at St. Gregory the Great High School in 2006, then Principal and President at Seton Academy in 2009 before joining Holy Trinity High School in 2014.

Ms. Lynch has been recognized with the Chicago Archdiocese Heart of the School Leadership Award in 2003 and was a Golden Apple Award nominee in 2000 and 2003. In addition, she has been elected to the Archdiocese of Chicago’s High School Leadership Council (2012), chaired Quality Assurance Review Teams for AdvancED, and was appointed to the Steering Committee for the Archdiocese of Chicago AdvancED district accreditation (2013).

During her tenure at Holy Trinity, Ms. Lynch was instrumental in developing the B-STEM Honors Program, launching the 1:1 Technology initiative, expanding our AP course offerings, introducing the dual-credit program with Benedictine University, bringing in partners to provide free ACT prep programs for all students, increasing our Title funding to support both teachers and students, creating a relationship with Northwestern University’s School of Medicine, overseeing growth in the counseling department by bringing in additional support for students through partner agencies, and expanding college counseling activities while always providing strong academic leadership to the overall school community and igniting academic improvement. In addition, Ms. Lynch always modeled best practices by continuously educating herself through university course work, seminars, and workshops.

“Marianne is a wonderful champion for our students and faculty and a tireless advocate for Holy Trinity High School, on top of her outstanding instructional knowledge,” said President Tim Bopp.  “She has had a tremendous impact on so many students, teachers, administrators, and parents within our community, and will be greatly missed.”
