Blue Demon Access at DePaul University, June 23 – June 25

Applications are now being accepted for DePaul University’s new summer immersion program designed specifically for Big Shoulders Fund high school sophomore and junior males! Blue Demon Access will allow Big Shoulders Fund scholars a 3-day, 2-night opportunity to experience life on a college campus. Daily activities include enrolling and participating in college-style courses, engaging in teambuilding and group initiatives and leadership activities, learning about the college prep process, touring DePaul’s Lincoln Park campus, and staying overnight in one of DePaul’s residence halls. Princeton Summer Journalism Program

The Princeton Summer Journalism Program (PSJP) is a free residential journalism and college preparatory program for high-achieving current juniors from low-income backgrounds who are interested in journalism. Over 10 days, students live on campus at Princeton University and learn reporting skills from professional journalists. They also attend lectures on liberal arts topics led by Princeton U professors. Summer Opportunity in Computing and Technology

Indiana University’s Luddy Pre-college Summer Program will take place June 14-20, 2020. Students will explore their passion for technology and learn how technology is used in problem-solving. Piven Theatre Workshop

Advanced High School Performance Conservatory This four-week, full-day program offers students a chance to study the Piven Technique in the morning. Mornings are comprised of Scene Study and Story Theatre work on alternating days, and students learn the principles of improvisation, theatre games, and ensemble-building, as passed down to Joyce and Byrne Piven through Paul Sills and Viola Spolin.
