This course fulfills the requirements for the second Physical Education class and can be taken in place of or as an additional physical education course for students in grades 10, 11, 12. Students in this course will participate in strength and conditioning programs for various sports and fitness-related activities. Free weights, exercise machines, and conditioning activities will be incorporated to promote improvement in strength, balance, agility, and speed. This class will also provide students with information regarding nutrition and diet, components of fitness, types of fitness programs and wellness concepts. Proper technique, safety precautions, and proper applications of the Principles of Training will be emphasized.
