Holy Trinity Girls' Basketball Places 4th in CPC Tournament; 2 Players Named to All-Tournament Team On Thurs., Feb 13, the Holy Trinity Girls' Basketball team fell to Rochelle Zell, 48-35, in the third place game of the Chicago Prep Conference Girls' Basketball Tournament. Junior Nayanah Mahone and Senior Diamond Young were named to the Conference All-Tournament Team for their impressive performances. Coach Gruber, Coach Gonzalez, Coach James, and the Lady Tigers are now 11-6 on the season overall. HT Girls’ Basketball Senior Night 2025 Recap

Lady Tigers over Our Lady of Tepeyac  -- SENIOR NIGHT! written by AD Emeritus Ted P. posted by AD Schwadron Back in the Jungle -- it was SENIOR NIGHT for the Holy Trinity Girls basketball squad, and not to be outdone, the Ladies showed their "roundball prowess" topping visiting Our Lady of Tepeyac 38-3 in Chicago Prep league action. HT's Diamond Young led all scorers with 22 points on the night. Teammates Nayannah Mahone and Jayla Beverly each added four points to the mix. The Tigers improved to 10-4 overall and are now 6-3 in conference play.

Holy Trinity Boys’ Basketball Captures Conference Championship – First Time Since 2007!

 The HT boys varsity team played a TENSE battle at Northtown Charter on Wednesday night (02.05.2025), with the visiting Tigers prevailing 57-54 enroute to clinching the 24-25 CPC conference title. This marked the first conference basketball championship for HT since 2007.  With the win, the team improved their overall record to 19-7 and completed their league schedule at a 6-1 mark. HT Boys’ Basketball Defeats Westmont 59-52, Claims Sole Possession of 1st Place in Conference

Recap written by AD Emeritus Ted Poprawski: HT moved one game closer to their first Chicago Prep Conference title since 2007, with a 59 to 52 win versus visiting Westmont HS (9-13 overall, 4-1 in CPC). The Tigers are now 18-6 overall and 5-0 in league play. HT bolted out to a 31-14 lead by halftime with Jordan Harper scoring 11 of his game total 20 points in this span, and Drayton Williams and Elder Donaldson each adding 3 apiece. Holy Trinity Boys’ Basketball Wins 51-47 Overtime Thriller over Ida Crown, Extends HT Winning Streak to Six Games

The HT Boys' Basketball team is now 7-2 overall on the season and 2-0 in the Chicago Prep Conference (good for 1st overall in the CPC in this young season). Freshman Jordan Harper (19 points), senior Elder Donaldson (13 points), and senior Drayton Williams (10 points) spearheaded the Tigers' offense in the win. The win at home moved the Tigers back on track for the season, and allowed Coach Gruber an opportunity to get some valuable playing time not only for the regulars but for all team members. An 8 to 2.  1st quarter burst, propelled  the varsity tonight. A 2nd stanza 14 to 4 run made it 22 to 6 in HTs favor by the half. Final Score: Rochelle-Zell 47,  HT 44.   HT: 2-1 overall (Chicago Prep Conference 0-1.) On the road, in a CPC conference matchup, the Lady Tigers fell just short of victory falling to Rochelle Zell 47-44. The visiting Tigers struggled through the first quarter, trailing 10 to 4 after 8 minutes of play. From the 2nd quarter on however, HT was right in this contest. Late in the 4th quarter, with the score tied at 44 apiece and only 37 seconds to play, Rochelle Zell hit the game winning and-one en route to the win. HT featured Diamond Young who exploded for 23 points [...]

Holy Trinity Girls’ Basketball Defeats Parker, Improves to 2-0 on Season

Posted by AD Schwadron on 12/6/24 The HT Girls' Basketball team defeated Francis W. Parker, 30-24, on Thurs., Dec. 5, to improve to 2-0 on the season. The Lady Tigers got it done thanks in large part to a team effort on defense (15 defensive rebounds, 17 steals) as well as the offensive glass (15 offensive rebounds). Diamond Young (10 points) and Nayanah Mahone (8 points) led the way for HT in the scoring department, with Mark'ianna Mickles (4 points), Hope Shelton (4 points), Nichelle Sturkey (2 points), and Jayla Beverley (2 points) chipping in, as well.
