The Hunt for October Begins

written by Coach Gladden

Under cloudy and rainy skies, the Holy Trinity Cross Country teams began their quests for qualifying regional times in late October at the Roycemore Invitational. One hundred and seventy athletes representing thirteen schools competed in the boys and girls three mile races. Pitias Merach powered through the course in a seasonal best time of 20:48.40, finishing 24 th on the boys side.

Andrea Barrera and Samira Mota, competing in their first race of the season, completed the three mile loop in 30:50.70 and 31:11.80, respectively. Both athletes are excited about the season and look to improve each week as they pursue the goal of securing a qualifying time by the end of October.

The HT runners will compete next Tuesday at the Ron Campbell Invitational at Niles West High School.
