Curington-Harris Sets PR at Meet of Champions

Leonte Curington-Harris opened the meet with a throw of 10.47 meters (33’-4”)
establishing a new personal record and 19 th place finish overall. Manasseh Boahene
powered through the 400-meter sprint completing the 2-lap event in 57.93 seconds
(28 th ) and a PR. Viktor Markovych competing for the first time indoors this season,
established an indoor PR oat 800 meters covering the distance in 2:21.17.
This meet concludes the indoor competition schedule for the HT track team. Their next
competition will be outdoors, April 5 th , at the Hope Academy Invitational.

Mixed Results for the Lady Tigers at the Arthur Sullivan Invitational

Jilene Velazquez set a PR (16’-3 3/4 ”) in the long jump to open the scoring for the Lady
Tigers. She finished fourth in the event. Moving to the sprint events, Jilene took the
sixth-place spot in the 55-meter sprint with a time of 8.02 seconds. Competing in the
same event, Michelle Robinson (8 th ) covered the distance in 8.33 seconds. The first-
time quartet of Michelle, Naomi Mahone, Emaly Lopez and Jilene experienced some
first meet jitters while moving the baton around the oval in the 4×160 meter relay to wind
up 8 th overall. Emaly (13 th ) and Naomi (14 th ) competed at 200meters with times of 32.87
and 33.41 (PR), respectively. Action on the track concluded with Minseo Kim (10 th )
running 1600meters.

Field Teams this Sunday morning at the De La Salle#2 Invitational.
Leonte Curington-Harris opened his senior year shot put campaign with a 17 th place
finish and a personal record of 33’-6 1/4 , bettering his old mark by 22 inches. Jaden
Hamilton competed in the 60-meter and 200-meter sprints, stopping the clock in 7.23
seconds and 24.86 seconds respectively, resulting in personal records, finishing sixth in
both races. Manasseh Boahene competed in the same double (60m/200m), also
setting a personal record at 60 meters and equaling his indoor best at 200 meters.
On the women’s side, newcomers Naomi Mahone (200m) and Sunita Pate
(60m/200m) established baseline performances in the sprint events finishing 7th , 7th and
4th respectively at the Frosh/Soph level. Jilene Velasquez finished 8 th in the Varsity 60m
sprint and 7 th at 200 meters in her first action of the year.
