The Holy Trinity Track and Field team closed out their regular season schedule at the
Orr Invitational in a final tune-up before competing in the conference championship on
Thursday, May 8th at Westmont High School.

The Lady Tiger relay quartet of Emaly Lopez, Sunita Pate, Michelle Robinson, and
Jilene Velazquez came together to lower their personal records in the sprint medley
relay and the 4 x 100 meter relay. The ladies finished second (2:07.53) in the SMR and
third in the one lap relay with a time of 55.39 seconds.

Away from the track, Arielle Asberry-Baker finished fourth with a throw of 6.36 meters
(20’-10 ½”), establishing a personal best. Jilene took home the top medal in the long
jump with a leap of 4.67 meters.

The Lady Tigers finished fourth overall in the team competition.

Manasseh Boahene finished thirteenth in the 100 meter sprint, covering the distance in
12.78 seconds, setting a personal record. Alexander Cruz powered around the oval in
58.33 seconds for seventh place, recording a personal best at 400 meters. Pitias
Merach ran a tactical 800 meter race, pulling away from the field at the 500 meter mark,
taking home the first place hardware with a time of 2:21.27.

Leonte Curington-Harris finished fourth (9.95 meters) in the shot put, missing the
medal stand by 3 ¼”. The boys collective efforts enabled the team to finish in fifth place. Congratulations to all the competitors and Go Tigers!
