The Holy Trinity track and field team turned in an impressive showing at the CPC Outdoor Championships, highlighted by three individual and two relay champions as the Tigers continued their strong season on the track.

The Tigers dominated the boy’s sprint events as senior Jaden Hamilton raced to a conference title in the 100-meter sprint, clocking a winning time of 11.66. Fellow senior, Viktor Markovych finished fourth in the same race (12.30). Junior Manasseh Boahene and Markovych swept the top two spots in the 400 meter dash.

Hamilton and Boahene repeated their success in the half lap sprint, finishing first and third.

The relay quartet of Yuri Bryant, Boahene, Markovych, and Hamilton stood atop the podium in the 4×100 meter relay, moving the baton around the oval in 46.12, running away from the field.

The Tigers continued to pile up points throughout the championship meet with two additional all-conference performances and multiple strong finishes. Junior Alex Cruz earned a podium finish in the 800 meters, finishing second in 2:17.07, personal record. Freshman Bryant claimed an all-conference designation in the high jump, placing second.

Trevion Perry, 800- and 1600-meter specialist, finished fifth (2:29.33) and sixth (5:37.74) respectively. Claude Bickel added points, going 12:27.69 (PR) for 3200 meters crossing the line in fourth place. 

In the final running event of the day, 4×400 meter relay, Stuart Roberts, Seth Miller, Bickel, and Cruz just missed the podium, finishing fourth.

In the field events, Patrick, Ezeanyin placed sixth in shot put with an 8.52m (27’-11 ½”) throw and Denelle Owens finished eighth in the long jump.

The coaches named Jaden Hamilton as the boy’s MVP of the meet. 

On the girl’s side, the Lady Tigers took home gold in the 4x200m relay. Seniah Martin, Angelica Cave, Sunita Pate, and Nayanah Mahone moved the baton around the two lap race in 2:01.98. The same group finished fifth in the 4x100m relay.

Senior Delilah Gutierrez added an all-conference designation with a second place finish (3:11.55) in her first 800 meter race. Sophia Conde finished eighth in 3:31.31.

Pate and Mahone added points in the 100- and 200- meter sprint events.

Mahone added points and an all-conference designation in the long jump with a leap of 4.12 meters (13’-6 ¼”), Arielle Baker nailed down the fourth place spot in the shot put with a toss of 7.24 meters.

The Tigers will focus their attention on the Class A Sectional meets in their pursuit of state qualifying performances.

Seniors had their moment prior to the meet beginning at Westmont.
