For the first time, six Tigers participated in a Science Olympiad on Saturday, December 14, 2019.

In the AA Division, Holy Trinity placed:

  • 1st in Boomilever (Gabriel Sheikh ’20, Minh Nguyen ’20). Our Boomilever score (a build event) was the best in the entire tournament!
  • 3rd in Anatomy/Physiology (Mikaela Columna ’23, Minh Nguyen ’20)
  • 3rd in Astronomy (Jordan Newell ’20, Krishna ’23)
  • 4th in Write-it-do-it (Nicole Stryskun ’22, Mikaela Columna ’23)

The Science Olympiad is made up of 23 events. HT students competed in five events: Boomilever, Codebusters, Astronomy, Write It Do It, and Anatomy/Physiology. Typically the events are 2-man events, and the 2 people work together on the task or test. Some events are called “build events,” for which the teams build something before the tournament. The tournament was hosted by Harlem High School with 31 teams participating in two divisions.

HT’s Science Olympiad team is looking forward to competing in future invitationals!
