It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Ray Milnes, Chair of Holy Trinity’s Board of Trustees, on March 22, 2019. Ray was advocating and planning for Holy Trinity until his last days. We have lost an incredible leader, a wonderful man, and special advocate for our school. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Milnes family at this time.

Under his leadership, the school excelled in numerous ways which include substantial building improvements, such as renovated bathrooms and a new roof; improved technology access and equipment, including the creation of the Robotics Lab and launch of the one-to-one technology program; and a successful Strategic Capital Campaign. We have lost an incredible servant leader and advocate for our school who truly embodied our Holy Cross mission.

Ray was with KPMG for 38 years, retiring in 2011 as Partner, National Real Estate Industry Leader. After retiring, he was involved in many activities in addition to his service to Holy Trinity. He served as an adjunct professor in the Real Estate Department at DePaul University. Ray was a member of the board of directors of Piedmont Office Realty Trust, an Atlanta-based real estate investment trust. Based on his love of basketball, Ray volunteered as an assistant varsity basketball coach at Stagg High School from 2011–2017.

Ray was devoted to his family and friends and shared many amazing life experiences. His kindness, compassion, and integrity will always be remembered by all who knew him.
