Dear HT Family,

Due to the risks of COVID-19 (coronavirus) and following the advice of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Illinois Department of Public Health, the Archdiocese of Chicago, and other agencies, we will be closing our school building effective Monday, March 16. At this time, we have not determined how long this building closure will last; we will make an announcement when we have determined a date to reopen.

During this time, students are expected to participate in our Electronic Learning (E-Learning) program. Implemented last year for snow days, e-learning is a proven model for Holy Trinity and will permit students to continue learning without requiring us to add additional school days to our calendar.

All extra-curricular activities, social events, and school gatherings will be canceled or rescheduled. This includes:

  • All athletics practices, games, and events.
  • The spring play.
  • Parent-Teacher Conferences; parents are encouraged to contact any teachers they wish to talk with and schedule time for a phone call to discuss any concerns.

Please note, the building will not be open for general student access. Staff will be manning the Main Office during limited hours: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you or your student needs to access the building for materials essential to their classwork, please contact Principal Lynch in advance: mlynch@holytrinity-hs.org / 773-278-4212 ext. 3022.

Students will be expected to leave the building today by 4:30 p.m. at the latest. They will be asked to take home all books, Chromebook devices, musical instruments and anything else they need to continue learning.

Students who have not yet submitted their course selection forms for the 2020-2021 school year will be required to take a photo/scan of their signed document and email it to their counselor by Monday, March 16.

If any student has come into direct contact with a diagnosed case of COVID-19, or if a student is positively diagnosed with the virus, please contact Principal Lynch immediately.

We look to God, our refuge and strength, to carry us through this uncertain time. We will be praying for the health and well being of you, our HT family, and all those who are hurting and vulnerable. While we will not be gathering in person, we look forward to staying connected with you by phone and email in the coming weeks.

In Christ,

Marianne Lynch
Principal
